I always find these things wrong. People who have been arrested have just been accused of something by a cop, they could be found completely innocent but still have these websites and things like the "Slammer" hanging over their head.

What I find objectionable is that there are aggregating websites that collect all these photos, then if the person is wrongly accused and wants to remove their photo they can only do so if they pay a fee. Almost like blackmail.

That's the downside of public records and FOIA (Freedom of Information Act). Some people think that everything the government knows should be public information, until they see that not everyone in "the public" will act responsibly with that information.

Some people are just plain nosey. I'd imagine the ones that consistently peruse those sights are the same ones that have every neighboring towns crime dot map bookmarked on their pc as well. Unless your looking for something specific it's just a voyeuristic endeavor to confirm the supposed demise of the world. Slammer mag, jail reality tv,cops all just tools to get us addicted to ,gasp
"Murder porn"( South park reference).lol

OK, pick your town and look and see who is doing drugs, leaving their cars ublocked, or shoplifting, and there are no pictures in the police reports!

Does Durham County have something like this? I can't find it. Or City of Raleigh?
