I just got engaged and I am planing out the wedding. Me and my Fiance are having a Winter Wedding in January of 2018. I love to plan things early but also in long term phase. Any who, we live in Fayetteville NC but we want our wedding in Raleigh NC. We are having three different people serving out wedding. To get to the point every place we like to have it will not allow us to provide food. My question is does anyone know a place that will allow us to do so? Please help and Thank You.
So it sounds like the places you've looked into so far are the 'all-inclusive' wedding venues that either A) have their own in-house catering operation or B) have a short list of area caterers they say you have to use. The problem is that you've got a few friends, family or other people who are catering your reception. Is that correct? I just want to clarify what you're asking/looking for before suggesting anything. The answers to the question yandex posted will help too.
True, they allow you to 'bring' your catering but many (including the Royal on your list and maybe the others - I couldn't find the info) have a list of pre-approved vendors, including caterers, that you have to choose from. If you want a different caterer or your BFF/Aunt/Grandma/Cousin is making all the food, the chances are very slim they'll accommodate your event.
We actually had an event at The Royal and we bought in a caterer that was not on their list and it was fine. These are just ones that they don't need to "approve" - but there was no issue with them approving the one we bought in.

True, some aren't as strict as others with their "preferred" or "approved" vendor lists. I was just assuming that was the situation with the venues they'd previously tried from what the OP described and in my experience it can vary widely from venue to venue. Hopefully they'll chime back in with some answers to the questions previously posted so we can try to help them out.

I'm sure it does vary widely. One thing I've learned is that it's pretty hard to throw an "inexpensive" wedding anymore!!!

I"m there for a wedding on Sunday. I think they are pretty reasonably priced.
Lol, DJKB I'm sure that would be an interesting discussion! I'm married to a wedding DJ so I hear all about the different venues. I also planned a big "conventional" wedding a while back (not to my current husband) and still remember clearly all the trials and tribulations of that process.
