Good evening,
Considering putting in a offer on a townhouse in Anderson pointe off of Rogers.
Have an 8 year old.

Anyone know about whether the area is safe. I personally drove thru the area and thought it was pleasant. I now being told by long term residents it's not.
I was also told the lovely park is a drug store per say.
Thank for any information you can share.

I live about a mile from there and enjoy the park and have not seen anything to give me pause. I am the type that would notice if something was going on while I was there. I don't go at night though (because why would I with kids, not because I am concerned about it)

i also haven't seen anything i'd worry about. The area, pretty much all of Roger's Lane is often patrolled by the RPD and the wake county sherrif's department. They love setting speed traps there. There's an elementary school that's about to start construction right across from the park.

There are a lot of subsidized houses back there. Take that as you wish. My experience with houses which have been subsidized by the city is some of the tenants do take care of the stuff and actually treat it as if it is their own.

However, as with anything that is given to someone, most of those living in subsidized housing don't take care of it because it's not theirs and they know they can simply move into a new place and get a fresh start. People living on the system usually bring the riff-raff with them.

Just my experience.

I bike the Neuse River trail quite often and will stop at the Anderson Point Park parking lot (the one before you cross the bridge). I also have parked there to start a bike ride from there ..... from the 'stuff' I see littering the parking lot I have to wonder what goes on there at night. No issues during the day that I have ever seen.

If these are those skinny 3 story townhouses at the bridge which I'm sure it is after googling. Honestly I'd pass. I actually looked into those on my last move. The inside layout is horrible. Narrow and cramped. The proposed security gate has never been put into commission. It's just for show. Almost all units are investor owned and used for rentals. I would check to see how many are being rented with section 8 vouchers(shouldn't be a negative but unfortunately it usually is) that will make resale difficult. If the property is priced way cheaper then others there is a reason. Personally I think the outside facade is tacky and will look very dated in 10 yrs. Find something else, even if it's further into Knightdale. Do you live in this area?
