I had amazing wings at Brew n 'Cue in Cary a few weeks ago. They are smoked with a dry rub.
I had these recently, and enjoyed them too. Caution to anyone interested, they are not traditional buffalo wings. (They had sugar crystals on the outside). They were really good, but if you're a purist, go in knowing it's not "buffalo wings". On a similar note, Aviator Brewing in Fuquay Varina has great smoked wings too.
If we're going with non-traditional wings (I'm catching up on the thread) I would also recommend Smokey's BBQ Shack on Chapel Hill Road. Honestly, that's my favorite place to get wings, even though I also like Chow.
The Pit & Brew/Que also both have great smoked wings. In terms of traditional hot/buffalo wings - Woody's, hands down.
