I'll never go see a movie anywhere other than CineBistro in Cary. It's just a pleasure.
That said, I kind of agree with Rory Breaker that the total bill, if you eat dinner, is kind of hard to swallow. We've opted to eat elsewhere.
The $35 for movie tickets is so worth it, though.
If you JUST going to watch a movie and not eat, what is the difference between CineBistro and Cinemark Carolina Grande? Except that CG is about half the price of CB.

Well, for me, about a 20 minute drive. Does Cinemark have a 21-and-up policy after 6pm? That's HUGE to me.

I've no idea - we go to the matinee's! Preferably during the week, to avoid the crowds and kids. But I agree - that policy would be a good thing. Maybe not worth 2X the price of a ticket with the same style of seating, but worth something for sure.

Definitely worth it to me. I generally can't do matinees unless I take time off from work. I'll gladly pay extra for the 21 and up crowd and general comfort level in the evenings. (also, I'm not sure if RG is stadium seating ... I've come to like ground level seating better)
Jkgourmet, fair question. Same answer as hertfordshire: CineBistro is so close to my house, and I prefer the adults-only vibe, so it's worth the premium.
That said, I've never been to Cinemark, so I can't really compare the two facilities. Are they similar in terms of layout and comfort?

Cinemark: Stadium seating in smaller size theaters. All the seats are big, recliners all less than 12 months old. Prices are $7.50-$8.00 pp matinee (higher on weekends) for children and seniors. I think it's another 50 cents for adults. I don't know the evening prices.
Food is available - sandwiches, pizza, hummus, truffle fries, etc. Some kinda upscalish stuff, all reasonable prices.
My great affection for Raleigh Grande is also because they show the indie releases on (typically) 3-4 of their screens. We appreciate that. So, even when we go to see a blockbuster, we've always tried to patronize this theater - even BEFORE they got the nice seating.
I feel exactly the same way! I've never really liked going to the movies anyway, but I went to the CineBistro and loved it. It was worth the extra expense and I don't think I'll ever go back to a traditional movie theatre.
I also loved that we were able to select our seats and pay online ahead of time; no concerns about getting there early enough to get "good" seats.
The seats are so comfortable that I almost dozed off a few times.
Good point about 21+...I found that to be a plus, for sure.
Makes a huge difference in atmosphere. All for the 21+
