School lottery season is in full swing, and decisions need to be made! We need to choose between Voyager Academy and Kestrel Heighys for our rising kindergartener. Can anyone weigh in with pros/cons? Random opinions welcome, insider info even more welcome! Help a momma out! TIA!

I toured Voyager a couple years ago and liked it a lot, but ended up turning down a spot for K because logistically I just couldn't make it work (they start early and it is a long drive). I know a couple families who have elementary age children attend and they are very happy.

I really don't know anything about Kestrel Heights expect for an acquaintance whose child attends middle school and she says it is "OK" and that it was "their only option". I know that is not that helpful, sorry!

Based solely on hearsay, I think Voyager is more "stable" as a school. I've heard of a number of families leaving Kestrel over the years due to various issues at the school (sorry, I don't really know what they were), and I've never heard that of Voyager families. The schools are nowhere near each other, so I'd think that would play a lot into a decision??
