I know there have been threads regarding this neighborhood in the past, but they're all quite old. We live in Cary and are looking to possibly purchase a house in the Peninsula, but I don't know much about the Chatham County schools. I'm hoping people can post their experiences in the neighborhood and with the school system. Also, concerned about the distance of the schools, particularly for teenagers who want to drive to school or drive out on weekends to visit school friends in other parts of Chatham County. Thanks for any help!
I think the fact that the Peninsula has always been a very tough sell in the hottest zipcode around tells you all you need to know.
Having to travel 40 minutes to a school in the direction opposite just about everything a kid will be interested in after school hours, including houses of worship/non school sports and arts interests/part time job? Nope.
Having your kid in a school that is completely inconvenient geographically in terms of proximity to the employment centers that 90% of working parents use? Nope.
There are so many options in Amberley I wouldn't go with a house in the Chatham County section with school aged kids unless I was doing private school.
