I think it's actually $25K (for full membership @ 37+ years old) and you've got 3 to 6 years to pay it. Alternatively, if you pay it in full up front they give you a 20% discount, effectively dropping it to $20K.

That's not how it reads on their website: Prestonwood Country Club - Full Golf

According to that link, you have to pay in full upon joining to get the 20% discount. If you use the 3 or 6 year payment plan, you don't get the 20% discount. However, maybe they do it a little differently than the website indicates when talking to them in person.

OP, have you actually purchased in West Cary or are you renting? How frequently do you plan to play? If golf is important to you, I would recommend moving to somewhere closer to a course. That would allow you to play evening golf without wasting 30 minutes getting to the course.
