Guasaca. I'm always amazed at how big/stuffed their arepas are for what they charge. And delicious! I think they should actually be charging a dollar or two more than they do, but I won't complain about my under $5 meal.

I went to Alpaca in Cary for lunch today. I sort-of, kind-of needed to be nearby (what's a few miles for lunch?) Very crowded which is good and the line moved fast. Had the 1/4 dark meal. What is in the yellow sauce? Wanted to take it all home for every meal.

For value meals I suggest the $4.99 footlong Friday sub sandwich at Harris-Teeter. Also on Friday is hot-baked 8 -- eight pieces of baked chicken for $4.99

Good call on the $4.99 HT subs. I have their app so I put in my order online and then just walk up and pick up my sub while all the suckers in line glare at me. Eat half and save the other half for Monday lunch.

I used to get the half sub, chips and drink combo at Harris Teeter all the time. Didn't know I could order online!

I love Guasaca and totally agree they could be charging more for how much you get.

This thread is 8 pages long and no mention of Cosmic Cantina?? I feed our family of 4 there for $14 (2 regular burritos, 1 mini burrito, 2 cheese quesadilla, 2 sour creams, 1 green sauce a soda and 3 waters). Impossible to beat.

I just mentioned this on another threat but relevant here too - the scallop bowl at Tenko makes a great lunch

Tony's Oyster Bar is a bit of a dive but they discount their steamed menu (oysters, shrimp, crab legs) pretty substantially on Sundays

First trip to Guasaca I ordered 3 signature chalupas because the price was so low I figured they must be small. I nearly popped before I could eat all that food. Guasaca is a good bargain for the money

Guasaca nearly always has a Groupon deal.

You can order online as well if you don't want to wait in line during the lunch rush.
