I would call Pettyjohns. I've used them before, they are a bit more expensive than other companies, but I feel they are worth the $$ money. They do offer specials and coupons, inquire when you call. They will clean around the furniture, or move the furniture and clean the entire room (more $$). Pettyjohns Carpet Cleaning & Restoration Services 1905 S Main St # 101SOUTH

Enviraclean many times, as have my clients. He is great and uses a cleaner with a wonderful orange smell. It goes away when the carpet is dry, but is nice in the meantime. He is very good at spots, too. Bobby 919-269-5882.
Be careful if you have pet stains. Cleaning can set them in and/or make them worse. Be sure to let the cleaner know you have them. They need to be treated differently.
I wouldn't use Stanley again. They drag a huge hose through your house and scuff up baseboards, railings, etc. They went as fast as they possible could and really did the bare minimum of cleaning IMO.
Okay, don't laugh.. but I've considered renting a machine from Food Lion... my carpets are in good shape and I'm trying to take the easy (and cheaper) way out...
I hate it the way carpet cleaning companies come in your house and often "upsell." Beware of the specials. Also, make sure your quote includes scotchguard - it usually doesn't. However, you can now buy it at Target, so it may be easier to treat it yourself...
I've used Chuck Hudson - ALL Carpet Care - 848-3181 - for carpet cleaning several times and liked him so much that we also called him for installation of new carpet for our whole house. Very thorough and for a good price.

I've done that numerous times. The only downside is the machines are significantly less powerful and tend to leave a lot of soap and water in your carpets. Plus they're narrow and take a long time to use. My last house had a white carpet and I found putting some OxyClean in the solution helped really clean it best. On the same white carpet the rented machines would often leave blackish streaks from dirty wheels or something. Never did figure out why. But it was cheap.
Don't rent from Food Lion. Rent the machine from true value hardware or Home Depot. Much better machine, much better for your carpet, and much better on your wallet. I did my whole house for under $20 for the rental and shampoo.
