Can anyone recommend a local swimming school or instructors, preferably around the NW Raleigh area? I researched Aqua-Tots in Cary and N Raleigh but reviews don't seem that good.

Thousands of kids have learned to swim through City of Raleigh Aquatics classes. Maybe Opimist Pool is convenient. It won't cost you and arm and a leg

I was just looking as well and my daughter was wait listed at a couple of places.

I guess this is a good training opportunity for the future when we apply to UNC and Duke

We have our two kids in Aqua-tots and have had nothing but good things with them. They've learned quickly to swim, are easy to schedule and work with. Plus the advantage of being able to go year-round so they don't loose the skill (and it gives them something to do in winter). Having a pool out back it was a must for them to learn.

Which Aqua-tots, Cary on 55 or N Raleigh on 6 forks?

City of Raleigh has good lessons that are reasonably priced. They have several locations, we've had good luck with them so far. The other option is to join a club for the summer and put them in swim team til they learn that way. Some have under 6 teams for that very purpose.
