Im buying a 150cc moped and i wanted to know if i would be bothered by cops a lot. I mean i ll obey the helmet laws and the transit laws. but i was wondering if anyone has ever been stopped on their moped?.

If you break the law you will get pulled over. If they suspect you are breaking the law you will be pulled over. Same as if you are driving a car.

They won't hassle you needlessly. Just wear your gear and obey the laws of the road and you'll be fine.
I concur with the above a 150cc is able to go with the flow of traffic no tags your a huge red flag.
Im sure at some point you have to park. A cop will see that you have no tags, and have it impounded.
Get the motorcycle license, get it registered, get the tags, pay the insurance, and property taxes when they are due. Become a law obeying citizen on the road like most of rest of us.

I've been stopped by an officer while riding a bike (no night lights at dusk), so I would say, yes, you are within their jurisdiction. I don't see any need to register as a motorcycle... just follow the regular rules of the road.

If it goes over 25 mph (ie above 50cc), you are required by law to register it as a motorcycle. Trust me, this has been more of an issue lately when gas prices exploded this spring/summer and people ran out to buy scooters. A lot of people in this area have been busted for riding 150cc scooters with no motorcycle license or tags. Ride at your own risk, but don't say you weren't warned!
Here is what I've seen over & over.
I have no license so I got a 150 cc scooter that look like a 50 cc. It was on a 50 cc style frame. I was good for a while until eventually I was pulled over. The officer could tell that it was not a 50 cc motor. Because I bought the scooter used I did not have the title registered in my name there for making the bike untitled. My scooter was then and pounded. Because I did not have a title that was in my name I was not able to get the smell out of impound. Total forfeit of the scooter. Because of it being a registered vehicle that was not registered I also received a driving on suspended ticket. 130$$$. This is not new anymore
. The police are on to the 150 CC trend. They will probably not stop you unless you have a traffic violation or infraction. However at that point. You better have registered title wich is unlikely. Or you may never see it again. I've been riding scooters around town for over 15 years all over Indianapolis greenfield and Greenwood whiteland and Franklin area. And once you've been stoped on one they will know it the next time you are stoped. If you are trying to slip through the cracks of the law. Without a lisence. Then have your scooter plated so you are not likely to be stoped unless you speed or don't use turn signal. Plate it in someones else's name. At least you can recover it from Impound.
it's already been said, but short answer, yes. As soon as they find out it is more than 50cc (and they will), you better be ready for the barrage of tickets heading your way.
