What is the typical annual precipitation for the RTP area ?

How have rains been this year compared to last year by this time ?

Is winter the time when it rains the most or is there some chance of rain during the hurricane season ?

Rather than answer your questions directly, I'll point you in the direction of a great climate site called Weatherbase. You'll find answers to your questions and much more...enjoy! Weatherbase: Historical Weather for Raleigh, North Carolina, United States of America

To get an idea of what rainfall has been like recently, just search this forum for 'drought'.

Well, the drought goes back to the beginning of last year. Rainfall this year isn't too far off the normal, but we aren't making a dent in the deficit from last year.

Link to weatherbase is a good one. Thx

Now that we have moved here, it is going to be a good year compensating for the drought last year

Just a quibble. The drought didn't get going until May of last year.

True. But a lot of places that list our rain deficit (such as WRAL.com - Breaking News, News, Weather, Video, Traffic and Sports) use since the beginning of last year. So we are down 10+ inches (not counting today) since 1/1/2007.
