I vote for no snow. I'd prefer no cold rain either! The last thing my kids need is 3 or 4 make up school days on a Saturday!

ok so considering we won't get snow here in Raleigh in December. what's the nearby place where we can see some snow definitely in Christmas, stay in a vacation rental? not looking some ski resort but just some snow fun for kids, tubing etc. 3-4 hour drive from triangle area should be fine.

Fun fact, 2015 was the hottest year and record, and we still got snow last winter. I predict early January we'll get snow.

Must be something in the almanac to coincide with these predictions.

3-4 hours from the Triangle and guaranteed snow? Think you are out of luck there. It is not even guaranteed before Christmas in downstate NY, to be honest.

Take it back!

That's pretty much worst-case-scenario IMO. That winter of 2002-2003 where we had THREE ice storms between December-February was the crappiest winter I can remember. Ice means everything is closed, power is out for days, and a crap-ton of clean-up that takes weeks or even months.

Blizzard of 2000 with 2 feet of snow was fun. Ice storms of 2002-2003...not fun.

I've seen nothing but rock salt here and that is SO hard on driveways. I used to get calcium Chloride in NJ which was better, but I haven't seen it here. My driveway too is on a hill and when we had the storm last winter I couldn't get out for five days.

I agree that the December 4, 2002 ice storm was not fun.

It will be fun when all the newcomers experience the panic of the mere mention of snow in the forecast!
