Now that the judge in the case against the modernist Oakwood home has ruled in favor of the Louis Cherry modern home, do you think that the judge made the correct or incorrect ruling?
Legally - Correct Ruling
Common Sense - Correct Ruling
Agreed.
You know, after going through the wringer on this issue publicly and financially, one can't help by wonder how this national exposure may positively affect Louis Cherry's business? It sure was a heap-full of free advertising courtesy of his neighbor who didn't like having his work across the street from her house.
at the end of the article that I read, it said both sides had said they would appeal if they lost. so it doesn't sound like it's over at all.
Maybe Gail should be directed to this poll to see the conventional "wisdom of crowds" on this issue? That said, I have heard many, many people/groups promising that they were going to appeal or take another shot at a political issue before failing the first time. Oftentimes, people don't have the stamina to go through it again and people who backed a losing cause fall by the wayside if they think that they'd be spending good money (& energy) after bad. If Gail and her supporters don't see a large swell of public outcry in support of their position, I can imagine the "chest puffing" and grandstanding to eventually fade away. ...let's hope.
I think the house is appropriate as neighborhoods evolve over time. When Frank Lloyd Wright built in established neighborhoods, the neighbors objected. Louis Cherry is not Wright, but the house has some of the same intentions-- clean lines, stone as trim, etc.

I keep coming back to the fact that there isn't as if they are all Georgian's or Victorian's or anything like that. They were all built at different times, and plenty of the houses have all the architectural significance of a prefabbed box; namely the realtors.
