You can always go to the park and play and walk around. The rides were not open yesterday so I assume that they are not open today.

I second that... its a nice little park. I used to stop by while I was at NCSU. I always thought it was funny they had that train around the park, but the kids seem to like it.

Here's the Wikipedia link to the Pullen Park. For many, it's an undiscovered jewel in the Triangle. I am always amazed when I meet long term residents of the Triangle that HAVEN'T been to Pullen Park. If you have small kids, there's hardly any better place to take the kids on a nice weekend day.

My kids loved Pullen Park-dh and I had fun too! We rode the train, rented two paddleboats and went all over the pond, rode the carosel and had ice cream. We played on the playgrounds and dug in the sand! It's a great place.

The carousel at Pullen Park was originally at Bloomsbury Park back around 1915 or so.

The article also says there used to be a zoo there. How cool. I'm a native and didn't know all of that about the park, even though it's always been one of my favorites!
