Has anyone had a bariatric procedure done in the Triangle? (Raleigh: cooking classes, hospital)

Or know of a family member or friend who has? If so, where did they have it done? Which procedure did they choose and how was their experience? TIA

My sister had gastric bypass surgery done at Rex Hospital in Raleigh about three years ago (Dr. Peter Ng at Rex Surgical Specialists Bariatric Specialty Center, to be exact). She had great results and very little complications, and raves about everyone at the center. She still goes to bariatric surgery support group meetings and cooking classes because she formed such a great bond with both staff and other patients.

I know three people who have done this at rex with dr ng. All with excellent results. The support groups they offer there are supposed to be great and. Big part of the success.

I had a laparoscopic surgery done for a bilateral hernia repair at WakeMed in Cary. It was performed by a surgeon from EmergeOrtho (Bariatric Specialists of NC) and went well, being an outpatient procedure.
