It is good to see our little music scene expand more. Even if you don't like his music, it will be a positive thing for the community.
The Dreamville Festival (Sept. 15) joins a lineup of major music festivals in the fall that includes Hopscotch, Sept. 6-8 in Raleigh; World of Bluegrass, Sept. 25-29 in Raleigh; and Art of Cool, Sept. 28-29 in Durham.
I might attend that. Not really a fan of his music but music festivals in general are always a good time, Hopscotch is fun. It's good to see Raleigh and Durham expand more on the music scene. Neither will ever be confused w/ Austin or Nashville, but the scene is still evolving into its own and beginning to get more national attention.
It's great to see this NOT being held in downtown. I love downtown, go there all the time but the festivals and their frequency really mess stuff up (road closures, excessive crowds, etc). I hope that once Dix is in it's final form it continues to be a venue for events like this.
It is weird to me that they'd put this just a week after Hopscotch. I'll still be recuperating from that and probably won't make it out again until 9/22's Groove in the Garden. Also, looks like this will be the same weekend as SPARKcon and CenterFest. Between football, music fests, and art fests, just a crazy busy time of year around here.
