Golf courses in great shape?? (Raleigh, Washington: home, university, pool)

We are planning a 12 man golf trip to Raleigh in September. Hoping to stay somewhat close to the course but really want quality public courses we can play? Nuese? NC state course? $60-$100 range I know Tobacco Road and south. Looking closer to Raleigh...thanks

My husband's feedback:

1. Lonnie Poole
2. Devil's Ridge
3. Washington Inn at Duke University
4. UNC Finley
5. River Ridge

The last three are about 25-30 minutes away from downtown Raleigh.

My husband never plays anymore but he liked RGA the couple times he played there.

All the mentioned University Courses (Finley/Wa Duke/Lonnie Poole) should be your hit list.

My husband's buddy is flying in tomorrow. They're doing 18 at Duke tomorrow, 36 at Tobacco Road Saturday and 18 at Lonnie Poole on Sunday. Then his friend flies home Sunday night.

They're a little addicted.

yea thats how we role as well! 36 per day until we hurt so bad we can't move! it's the best time though! those courses sound close to what we'll do as well......
