We had an odd problem with Spectrum internet yesterday evening. Internet suddenly started to go down every few minutes and for the short while when it was on the speed would barely go up to 5 mbps.
I pinged them on Twitter first and got the usual “have you tried turning it off and on again” brush off. But it looks like it might have set some flag on our account since when I called on the phone later we clearly got directly through to tier 2 support. They said there was an outage in the area but had no other information.
It was fine in the morning today. But 6 pm - bam, same thing again. I’m wondering how widespread this is. Is anyone else having similar issues?
We had issues for a day or two last week. Maybe they are working on their network piece by piece. Just wish they would let people know.
Yes, if it’s some planned work then it would be nice to know. Our Internet is fine today and the speed is actually even slightly better than usual.

DSL is okay for light internet users but I work from home often and need streaming data. I don't have anything from Spectrum but internet service
I never have issues with Spectrum and work from home. Its why I keep them.
They USED to be rock solid for me too. Never have issues in the evening which is when you would think node congestion happens. Unless they are working on the network during the day when they figure most people aren’t using their internet service. The 10 dollar difference of going to fiber plus last few months of weirdness finally convinced me to leave them
