There is an entire thread dedicated to this article.... WRAL is obviously doing their job.
Honestly, Amazon news is so frustrating. Deadline after deadline, they yet to even narrow the list... August was the month Amazon was going to have the list narrowed down..... its September.
Where did you hear about this deadline? I heard it was by the end of the year. Plenty of time left if that's the case.
Let's face it, WRAL is pathetic, and can only dig up viewership by being sensationalistic, lying, or controversial. Nothing new. I lost all trust in them several years ago.

Well, at least they do stories about the area that give sort of an overview that natives can appreciate. Stories about the future, current efforts in getting there, and angles other than the most basic reading of today's crimes.
I've lived all over the country and I assure you major cities do not do customized reports for say, the nascent industries developing in Raleigh, the history, and what's led to get to this point.
Atlanta local news hasn't ever given a comprehensive overview report on GDOT, a history of inaction, abysmal local street conditions, etc.
You get nothing more than the mindless reporting.
Greg Fishel's forecasts that try to be interesting and teach people a little, are also a rarity.
Only that bald weatherman at Chicago's WGN seems enthused to do more to educate like Greg does.
There’s a big difference between being sick of regurgitated articles and having an actual discussion on the subject.
when you say regurgitated, you mean "saying the same thing over and over" or that this article had been written before, and was re-posted as if it were news?
I'm all for "Amazon, the Thread" and "Apple, the Thread".
as a DC denizen, you'd probably like the geekwire article. it certainly points to the DC area being a/the frontrunner.
