Oh yeah...that is why one our requirements was a flat driveway.
I thought hubby was a bit nuts for demanding that....but the first ice-storm, where I saw the woman across the street have to park on the street and walk up the grassy yard bare-foot (she had been in high heels) because she couldn't get up her driveway slope cured me of that feeling!
She didn't have a walkway from the street/sidewalk to the front door? Strange. I too have a sloped driveway and have, from time to time, had to park on the street, but thank goodness there are stairs/walkway from it. Wow.

No....it's an odd corner lot.....nice home, lovely backyard....but no walkway to the frount door other then up their sloped driveway on the side (then walk around to the frount). To be honest, I don't think I've ever seen them use the frount door....lol....they go in the garage door.
Try the drive from North Raleigh to Creedmoor if you want to see hilly! In October, when the leaves change, its like a drive in the mountains. So beautiful! Vicki

You know...that may be why I think it is hilly around here...I make that drive twice a day during the week!
Well, as the person from FLA said, it's also hilly to me and I too am from FLA. It's more like the Atlanta area or the Anderson South Carolina area in terms of hilliness. Now if you've ever driven north of Phoenix, AZ up into Flag (Flagstaff), Sedona or Prescott then the Triangle would be flat compared to that drive along I-17 and Sedona itself.
Off topic a wee bit, can we someone to put some lights on the streets (Garrett Rd, Old Chapel Hill Rd and more) around here? Especially those that twist and turn, b/c I swear, you can't tell what's coming around the corner. It's scary for a guy that's used well lit streets.
Or anyone's who's been on Wade Ave between Ridge Road and St.Mary's Street.....hilly AND twisty.
PERFECT example.
I vote hilly. Not mountainous kind of hilly, like Mt Airy or Asheville... but definitely some small rolling hills, with a few steep bumps here and there.
Flat doesn't really occur to me in North Carolina till you get on the other side of I-95 heading toward Morehead City or Wilmington. Then you're talking midwest/Florida kind of flat.
one person hit it right on the head. raleigh is on the border of the coastal plain and the piedmont regions. west raleigh is very hilly towards apex cary and durham while east raleigh towards knightdale is flat.
