Hmmm, maybe some of us that don't know anyone and that are new to the area should try to schedule a time to meet up and have a sort of get to know you session. See if any friendships form out of the lot of us. Just a thought, since we're all in the same boat!!

I'm game and I'd be willing to host! Send me a PM if you want to get together and I'll try to put something together

I would like to move there but that was also a concern of mine. I don't know anyone but everyone on here seems to be talking about "my husband and I". Well, I have no husband so I would truly be alone. Be grateful you at least have someone else to share the move with! I will only have my son with me. I would like to get in touch with some single people who would like to get together. I could use some friends PRIOR to moving and maybe some people who wouldn't mind showing me around the area. BTW, excuse my ignorance..I know how to IM but what is PM?

I would love to help organize a group meetup but just cannot host (very small house and very large dog).

Perhaps we could meet somewhere public to start? Perhaps a park? The eating area of a mall? Then no one's home is "invaded" so to speak. Perhaps the "house" thing could come later? Just a thought. I wondered if people may want to cluster together by areas where they live? Which may not matter to some. With so little free time these days, wasn't sure if people in Apex would want to drive to North Raleigh, WF may not want to drive to Cary, etc. You get my drift. Or that could come later as well, after people initially meet then take it and run with it from there perhaps?

You have your son to enjoy the move with. I'm sure there is a goup out there for you, but I'm sure you'll be welcomed to this meet-up also.

When we've had forum meet-ups in the past, we've had them in public places (restaurants usually) and we've posted the location and time publicly so anyone who is interested may attend.

Just so ya know.

You might want to post this in a sticky at the top of page so it doesn't get lost in the posts.
