Goin a little off topic from most things that are talked about or asked about on here. We will be relocating by the summer time, and we are wondering if sixth grade football is played as a school sport or if it is still played at the rec level. Most all areas around Atlanta here do not offer sixth grade middle school football. If our son is not able to play at school, we will obviously be looking for a good rec. association. Any ideas whether or not they can play in middle school in sixth grade, and if not what are the best rec. leagues around the triangle area? We will more than likely be living somewhere south of town. Im rambling, anyone have any input.

You can find rec leagues for football for that age...but the schools do not let sixth graders play contact sports for school teams.....that starts in seventh grade.

Baseball, hockey and soccer seem bigger here from what I can tell (and are highly competitive with plenty of helicopter parents)...but there are football leagues.
