I'm outside city limits in Clayton and have Progress Energy for electricity and have well water, so cant answer about water ... If your inside city limits, I believe your electric will go through the city and might be a tad higher than direct from Progress Energy ... for our 2700 sq ft 2 level home, we averaged about $120 a month in the winter months and about $175 a month in summer (we keep A/C at 72 this summer and heat at 68 in winter) and using propane for Stove/cooking and dryer. Also using all Compact Flourescent lights. We paid about 10.5 cents per kwh according to the last bill I received. Hope this helps.

He is correct. Inside the city limits, your power, water, sewer, and trash go through the town of Clayton, and they mark it up a decent amount (I've heard 25% but again, that's just rumor, I can't confirm). Outside the city limits, power is typically Progress Energy, and water/sewer varies.
