Okay, so I've been checking this place out online on the Google map, but I really would like some perspective on this place from someone whose in the Raleigh area. I may be moving to an area and the street is called Angelus Drive, it's right off of McMakin? Does any1 know that area or that street where the apartments are at, could you please tell me about the area, what to look out for, are there shopping centers nearby or within walking distance? Any info you have about this place and what its nearby is appreciated...Thanks

How many bedrooms is your voucher for?
These are 3 bedroom units, aren't they?

I think you should be able to find a better location; nicer, with more accessible shopping.

There is no shopping nearby within walking distance. However, there is a nice park (Chavis Heights) within walking distance. I wouldn't necessarily say it's a bad area (not sure what you are used to or where you are from) but I wouldn't send a white boy down there alone at 1am on a Sat. night if you know what I mean. However, it's also not one of those spots where you are going to see or hear violence happening all the time. There are a lot of kids that play outside by themselves so other parents do feel pretty safe there.

Thank you for the honest information...as long as there's a park nearby that I may be able to take my kid and the neighborhood is pretty decent(not to sound racial or anything, but I think I may pass since I'm not Caucasian) then that's okay with me...right now where I stay I hear the ambulance all of the time, and this place was rated one of the safest neighborhoods in the area...just a matter of preference I guess, but thanks for the input, GREATLY appreciated...is there at least a nearby bus where I can take to go to the shopping areas? Does any1 know???

I believe the bus actually comes into the neighborhood. If not, I know for a fact it runs down Garner Rd. which is where that neighborhood is located.

And I'm not understanding this statement:

Why would you pass because your not white? The neighborhood is mainly black. And I'm not saying it is a perfectly safe neighborhood but I also don't think any neighborhood is regardless of it's location (that right Cary-ites, I just called y'all out). I'm just saying a white boy brought up in North Raleigh who has lived a sheltered life might not fair too well down there on a Sat. night.

I was just hoping you understood what I was getting at. Yeah, you won't have any problems there since it's not a bad neighborhood. It's just not something for a sheltered white boy.

Just a FYI you can search police incident reports via the link below. This might be a helpful tool when looking at prospective properties.
