I am looking for temporary housing for the summer in the Cary area. Does anyone have a recommendation for an apartment complex that may rent month to month? I have two children so I'd be looking for somewhere that would be a little nicer than what I may have considered in my single days. Thanks so much for any ideas.
You may want to check out the Raleigh section of Craigslist (raleigh.craigslist.org) for sublets that might work. I actually got a great deal on an apartment in Preston Reserve for a six months period while our house was being built. Other than that, you can try apartment.com or do a gool search on short term rentals. What price range are you looking to spend? Are you set on the temporary housing being in Cary or can it be in Morrisville, Apex, Durham, etc.?
I'm set on Cary only because the reason we're coming down is to get to know the area before we decide exactly where to buy. I'm scared to death about relocating and I thought spending the summer down there would help us not only decide where to buy but it would help me be more comfortable about leaving MD when we do make the move permanently.
Thanks so much for the suggestions. I know month to month is hard to find (without paying REALLY high rent) but I thought I'd ask just in case.
You might look in Chapel Hill for a summer sublet. A lot of the rentals are on the academic school year and many students move in May. Also, real estate is high in Chapel Hill but rents are comparatively not as bad.
I would suggest contacting a realtor now about your re-location and they can also help you find the rental. That's what we did. About a year before our re-lo, I contacted a realtor who worked with us to find a rental house in Cary for 9 mos while I got to know the area. Smartest thing we ever did. Your doing the right thing by renting first, even though moving twice is a pain.
Both of those are great suggestions. Thanks so much, K
