Is there anyone here who knows of a shipping company that I can use to ship a barrel to the Caribbean. I just moved here from New Jersey and it was easy to get that done. But I have no idea how to do it here in NC. Please help!!
Call Navis Pack and Ship, ask for Darryl at (919) 467-0084 if you are in or near Morrisville. Or talk to Bob at (919) 832-9006 if the western Raleigh/Durham location is closer.
I am trying to ship a barrel/boxes to the Caribbean. Are there any west indians/caribbean people here who can help me with that? It's much harder to get that done here in NC. I used to do it up north for a very reasonable price. I don't know who is doing it here. Plz help. Thanks so much.

For the less inform. People that now live in the U S permanetly has relatives back in their countries overseas that we care for. Who like in any family has needs. Just out of kindness and gratitude more so than ever LOVE whatever expenses we here can spare them so the little money they have can last longer and cover other bills. We send supplies food clothes ect ect ect.they are forever grateful
that when we eat or wear we have not forgotten them.

Completely understandable and laudable. But why a barrel? Why not a box? I'm just curious.
Boxes do not fare well in the conditions in which these shipments have to travel. Barrels hold a LOT of stuff (you wouldn't believe how many t-shirts, caps, pairs of sneakers, etc you can stuff into one barrel) and are very sturdy.
Understand that once it reaches Jamaica, for example (which is the only country I have experience with), it will likely get strapped into the back of a truck or on top of a country bus (not so many of those around any more) and may have to travel across many, many miles of very dusty, bumpy roads (many of them could hardly even be called roads by American standards) and then up to or across the mountains before it gets to its destination.
Barrels are about the only thing that can survive the trip! :-)
Plus, you can seal them pretty well, so that the contents will be okay even if the barrel gets rained on, dumped in the mud, etc.
