I am so glad that I live in a town that is so accepting and welcoming. How appropriate that the measure is voted on and passed in Cary.

NC Presbyterians to vote on ordaining gays :: WRAL.com (http://www.wral.com/news/state/story/4585281/ - broken link)

"Presbyterian church leaders in central North Carolina have approved a measure to let gays and lesbians in partnered relationships be ordained. Members of the Presbyterian Church (USA) denomination approved the amendment Saturday by a vote of 177 to 139 with 10 abstentions during a meeting in Cary of the New Hope Presbytery church leaders, the News & Observer reports."

That is nice to hear! Thanks for posting good news! I hope now that we have a more open-minded White House, maybe the rest of the country will be more inclined to be open-minded.

I don't think the White House's anti-gay-rights stance had any influence on this vote within the PCUSA.

Ummmmmmmm......both Biden and Obama are against FULL gay rights. The are against gay marriage, so I am not sure what open mindedness you are referring to. It's just more of the same.

You do realize that this measure was approved during a meeting in Cary. It has absolutely nothing to do with Cary being "accepting and welcoming", they just had a conference room available. Maybe you mean they welcomed them into the room and accepted their check? I applaud your effort, though.

In other news, Charmin held their annual meeting in Cary and decided that their new and improved toilet paper was the softest yet. I'm so glad I live in a town that notices and values the tenderness of my tush.

Exactly! As you can see from this link, the New Hope Presbytery covers 130 congregations in 34 counties across eastern NC, including Cary and all other parts of the Triangle. Additionally, other Presbyteries in NC, including Charlotte Presbytery (one of the larger and more conservative Presbyteries) have already voted the same way.

Next time, CD, please report the whole story rather than some absurd spin.
