We prefer the coast. Originally from the great lakes, we feel that it's not a "lake" if you can see the other side.

If I knew it would make our retirement planning a lot easier...

That is what I love about Raleigh..I can get to lakes, mountains and beaches.

For retirement we are trying to figure out what we want full time , knowing we can vacation at the other.
