I'm looking for a reasonably priced but yummy bakery in the Apex/Holly Springs area to order a birthday cake for my mom's 75th birthday. We are hosting a dinner for her, family, and friends (about 30 people) this month at a local restaurant but they only serve chocolate cake which she doesn't like. I was hoping to find a good bakery in the area that is reasonably priced too. I really don't want to order a sheet cake from Harris Teeter/BJs/Costco since its a milestone birthday. I was also thinking maybe fancy cupcakes instead. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

There is a bakery in Apex, right on 55, called Sweet Memories (I am pretty sure that's the name) - it's the same shopping center as Rudino's across from the Urgent Care Center. They made a wedding cake for my friennd's non-traditional wedding, in the shape of a suitcase with passports and all. It was gorgeous!

Sweet Memories in Apex did our wedding cake and it was absoltuely delicious and beautiful. I am not sure about the cost being reasonable though. They were getting ready to raise their prices after we got married and that was back in 2006 so I am not sure how expensive they are now.

I order our cakes from Savory's and definitely recommend them if you want a good tasting and reasonably priced cake. I've not had a bad cake from them yet. I priced Sweet Memories for a cake they were expensive and required 3 weeks notice (about a year ago).

I know one of the bakers at Sweet Memories. Danielle. She makes the best damn (cup) cakes on the planet. Go there. Wait if you have to. Pay a little more if you need to. They're the best. Don't settle.

Tell her I sent you.

Regards,
Streamer

Thanks all. I ended up ordering from Sweet Memories this morning. I stopped there, Once in a Blue Moon, and the one in downtown Apex (can't remember the name) but Sweet Memories won. Their cakes are just beautiful and I was able to get a cake for under $100.

Stick Boy in Fuquay has beautiful and delicious wedding and birthday cakes! There cookies and other goodies are tempting too. I can't drive by without stopping...soon, I will be 400 pounds if I don't drive away!
