Does anyone know if there are near by Triathlons or any Road Biking Groups? Or any running groups?

Quite a few of the major bike stores have riding groups. Spin Cycle and Cycling Spoken Here definitely do. All Star has a good page of local bike groups here: Cycling Links - allstarbikeshop.com

For running, there's North Carolina Roadrunners Club and CGTC

For triathlons Triangle Triathlon Club - TTC is a club designed to bring together multisport athletes

A good blog to check is the "Get Out! Get Fit!" one at the local newspaper the News and Observer. That's where I learned about several of these groups.

You should also try the Inside Out Sports store on Cary Parkway. They specialize in Triathalon sports equipment. So, they may know of some groups to join.
Good luck.

Check out raleighgyros.com for a great group that road bike primarily out of Blue Jay Point. There are no membership dues for this group and they have to be some of the nicest people and they are so organized for a group of volunteers; you won't be disappointed and there are quite a few triathletes in the group.

Have you discovered setupevents to find the races?
Amazing number of triathletes and the races fill up fast

I heard the one of the YMCA's (either Wake Forest or Raleigh) have a training club

Best of luck tri-ing
