FYI ~ Funnel Cloud vs. "Tornado"
Cary pkwy, was not just a funnel cloud. I watch storm chasers for entertainment, I am aware of the difference. Was about tree top level L shaped and in full rotation. Sorry to disappoint you NRG.

Um, it is called a JOKE, in relation to the Original Post (OP). Hello, wake up people!

So it never touched the ground? Hence it wasn't a tornado. Just a funnel cloud. At least the news got it right.

Possible funnel cloud in Cary :: WRAL.com

Keep on watching storm chasers! I read your posts for entertainment!

Tree top level IE, roof top, does warrant and catagorize it as a tornado. It will be placed in the stats as a tornado, Check channel 14.

We live in Preston Village, and we are still safe. Thank you, President Obama!

What a great storm! The rain amounts were amazing, and I ran into a little trouble with flooded streets on Wade.

I also got a lightening bolt shot at Whole Foods.

I watched via Channel 5 the storm unfold or shall I say rotate through the supper hour. Some photo's looked like a Tornado and some just looking like rain clouds. I was glad to hear nothing touched down over Cary/Raleigh.

I for one did not care if it was a Tornado or a Funnel cloud or just rotation present. I had the TV on and the battery operated radio at the ready. Ready to dive into an internal room complete with pillows ans blankets until the storm had rotated on by!

Wish everyone a quiet night!

P.S. Thanks to the many posters in this thread that made me <SMILE>
