Where is it going to be located? Are they still using it for WFR High while they renovate?

It's near the intersection of Forestville Rd and Rogers Rd in Wake Forest. I haven't been down there in a few weeks and don't think they've finished construction. I think I heard something about the WFR renovations being put on hold because of the budget shortfalls, but don't quote me on it.

Wake Forest Rolesville High will hold classes in the Heritage High building for 2009-2010 school year.
It's a go.
I guess it will be known as something like "WFR @ Heritage."

When school resumes for 2010-2011, WFR will be all fancied up.. along with bringing freshman back on campus (bye bye Dubois 9th grade center).

Beginning in 2010-2011 year, Heritage High will open with grades 9 and 10 only. The next year 9-10-11.. and finally 9-10-11-12.

What DOES appear to be on hold is Forestville High - FKA H6 due to budget constraints, enrollment, etc. It was supposed to open in 2010 (I think)... Of course, children are slated to attend school there beginning in 2010..can't wait to see how WCPSS handles this one.

They're building another high school in WF? I had no clue.

Forestville High (H6) will actually have a Raleigh address.

Forestville High is on Forestville Road, and is only a few miles from Heritage High School.

My understanding of the WF-R High School will basically be a demolition of 95% of the current High School. One building will be left all the rest will be sent to the landfill and a new school will rise in its dust! Long over due! Should be nice!

That's what I hear too !
It should be interesting!
Glad to see WFR will finally be a "modern" school.
Just a bit sad to see so much "history" go away (the old gym).

I wonder how that is going to affect zoning?

I need to go back and check, but I'm 99% sure children have already been assigned to Forestville High School... per the latest WCPSS reassignment plan.

If the high school doesn't open (and I don't think it is) on schedule- these children will have to be temporarily reassigned. WCPSS will likely address this later in 2009?? Maybe it has already been handled???????

I know at one time, there was talk of housing Forestville High 9 and 10th grade in the Heritage High facility for 2000-2010 (along with WFR grades 10-12). That would have been different !

This is the same school with the granite issues ( a lot of money had to be spent removing it) and the drama over the graveyard on the school property.
