Thales Academy in Apex (credit, middle school, colleges)

Hello everybody - we are currently doing research on several private schools for kindergarten in 2010. Can you tell me about Thales Academy in Apex?

I hear great things, but am concerned that is not accredited. What does this really mean? Should we be concerned?

The school will eventually go through 5th grade, then what? Any ideas where the kids would go next - will there be a Thales Middle School? It would stink for our child to have to make all new friends again starting in middle school (such a lovely age .

Any thoughts are much appreciated.

People who go there seem to rave about it. I would never ever go to a school that wasn't accredited unless that school had been around for years and years and had solid roots in the community and a good reputation.

I contacted them last year to ask about the accreditation issue and they said "accreditation is for colleges." Um, that kind of ignorance is not going to sit well with me--we had our kids in private school prior to moving here and I am an educator. *I* would not send my kids there.

Thales was K-5 this year. It will be K-6 next year and add a grade each year until it gets to K-8.
