I have a few questions about Wake county year round schools.

(1) Are all Wake county schools year-round, or only some of them?

(2) How does it work, how often do you get breaks, and for how long?

(3) Is this system here to stay, or is it supposed to be here for good.

(4) I assume some people love it, some people hate it???

Thanks.

1= Only some of the elementary and middle schools are year-around. There are no plans for any high schools to convert.

2= There are 4 tracks, each in school for 9 weeks, followed by a 3 week (or so) break so only 3 tracks (or 75% of the students) are in the building at any one time. Year-around students attend classes the same amount of days as traditional students and all students have off some time in the summer and have the christmas holiday off and spring break.

Here is the WCPSS guide for year-around schools: http://www.wcpss.net/year-round/

3= I think the system is here to say and I think more schools will be converted to it.

4= Yeah....lol...some love it and some hate it. Many parents that thought they'd hate it learn to actually like it.
