i am moving to cary in two weeks, and have two young children. can anyone recommend a pediatrician's office, or a specific doctor? without causing a lot of controversy, i am interested in finding a doctor who is open to the vaccine debate. anyone know of any open minded pediatricians in cary???? thanks.

I use Cary Pediatric Center at 100 Crescent Green. I like them alot. They are a larger office. I seem to have liked all the doctors that I have seen. Don't know their position on the vaccine debate though.

I also use Cary Pediatrics and like them a lot. As far as the vaccine issue, I know that this is discussed a lot on my Trianglemommies.com board. There is a ped in Apex that a lot of the delayed vaccine moms go to that is very AP/Natural parenting friendly. Her name escapes me at the moment but I would check out that board and do a search and I am sure you will find it!

Good luck and welcome to Cary!

Taryn

We selectively vaccinate our children. Our pediatrician was Dr. Arlene Massaro from Village Pediatrics. I LOVE HER!!!!! She is the greatest. We recently moved away and I was SO sad to lose her as a doctor for my children. She may or may not be accepting new patients.

The ped in Apex is Dr. Ramsdell. She came highly recommended to us also and only because of the distance to drive to her did we try out a closer ped who is "open" but not necessarily supportive of our choices, so needless to say we will be driving the 45 minutes to get to Apex after all.

In addition try the trianglearea attachment parenting group (if you email me or pm me I'll give you the info), mothering.com has a forum for the north carolina "tribe" and thebabywearer.com also has a forum for north carolina. All of these are excellent resources for the things you're looking for and if you bf try the LLL in the area.

I was also going to suggest trianglemommies, because I know they have had this same discussion. For what it is worth, my kids went to see susie catching (who is a pediatric nurse practitioner but has been working with kids for over 20 years and is AMAZING) at schmidt and catchings family practice. I continued to see her (and drive for 45 minutes) the first year we were in wake forest. I believe she is very open to many different care options for kids.
