Jusy got back from Virginia Beach/Norfolk.
I was always wondering, why can we not have a amusement park or water park in Raleigh area.
I think Triangle area including near by the cities already have a enough people for this type of park.
I was looking at the map and I found this perfect location with the lake near by 98.
What do you guys think?

To far from an expressway on a 2 lane road. Put it in Cary where IKEA was going to be.

All I have to add to this conversation is that the location you suggested is probably the absolute last place an amusement park would ever be built.

That land is squarely in the Falls Lake Water Supply Watershed and that sort of development would not be possible.

I'm not opposed to an amusement park close to the Triangle. But you have to venture far outside the "$100,000 an acre" Triangle. Right off I95 and I40, or thereabouts is your best bet.

I don't care that much about having an amusement park nearby, but I would love more water parks around here. We had tons of local water parks in Northern Virginia. They were run by the county so they weren't huge commercial ones. You could join them for the year or pay about $8 per visit. My kids and I loved them! We'd go around and visit different ones each week. I miss that around here.

Buffalo Rd in Raleigh is the closest thing to what you mentioned michgc, but they reach capacity very quickly many days, and close the doors. Which is quite ccnvenient after youve loaded up the kids and driven across town.

The Triangle region has been served by theme parks in Virginia such as Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens, and Carowinds in Charlotte. Does growth now support an amusement park closer to the Raleigh-Durham area?
