Went last year and not going this year. It is all relevant to what you are looking for. A lot of vendors and remodeling. The actual garden show was a bit of a downer. The show we went to last year was at the fair grounds. Not sure if it was the same show or not.
I was sort of tempted to go since I have some remodeling projects I want to do - but my weekend is looking a little too busy (with work unfortunately), so I probably will skip it. I've usually found these type of shows to not be worth the time or money, to be honest.
Lots of opportunities to sign up for "FREE Weekend Getaways!!!" (AKA time share presentations). Tons of granite companies. Carnival Barkers hawking cookware.

Yup, there was one high light to the show last year. That was I got to meet Mike J.
Went today and I won't go again. Mostly kitchen counter top installs, some landscaping, bit of solar, and really not much of anything.
Very disappointing.
Hmmm. My company is exhibiting there this weekend and the general tone of the commentary backs up my personal feeelings. This show doesn't IMHO differentiate itself enough from the show at the fairgrounds( a much larger show with more and more varied vendors and speakers.)
As someone who depends on homeshows to generate a large portion of my yearly revenue I often wished for another local show. Now that I've gotten what I wished for I regret it.
The two shows are so similar and spaced so closely together that I fear they just split the visitors. So vendors have twice the work and expense to see the same number of people.
I'm probably done with the convention center show. Unless, of course, we get good results.
by the way, there is never any need to pay to go to these shows. Vendors are given an allotment of free tickets to hand out to potential customers. Prior to the show, go on the show website and pick out a vendor that interests you. They will most likely be happy to provide you with tickets

Reason: to address cost of going to show
