My sister-in-law is in town and we decided to take her out for some good NC 'cue. So, last night, we drove out to Allen & Sons in Chapel Hill (off I-85) arriving around 6pm, only to find that it wasn't open for business.

Are they only open for lunch at this time of year or are they closed for the winter? I need my 'cue fix and might have to drive to Raleigh to go to The Pit tonight to do so.

They are closed on Sunday and Monday. Otherwise open year 'round.

Oh, they're closed on Mondays. That makes sense. I don't know why I only thought of dinner and winter, and not Mondays.

Thanks!

They do close when the run out of 'cue for the day, so it's best not to go too late.

I just called and they also close at 5pm on Tuesdays. Guess I'm going to The Pit. Ed Mitchell better get some 'cue a-cookin' 'cause I'm hungry!

The BBQ Joint on Weaver Dairy is worth checking out - it's just a few miles from Allen & Sons. While they have some seating, it's more of a takeout joint though.
