It sure is closed! I went in for a closer look and they were scraping the signs off the window. I never really minded having a check cashing place in town, but I did not like that bright red sign they had when all the other stores had green signs - would never happen in Cary!
Capt. Chill must be very pleased!
Now, can we just start a campaign against that Cash for Gold store in downtown Varina with the dancing bear out the front?
I remember a couple of years ago, around 2005 probably, the state was fighting these payday loan places because they essentially fleece people of their money. They ended up passing some law that essentially made them illegal to operate. How is it that they're back in operation? Changed the terms of their "loans"?
Lots of folks don't have bank accounts and have no ability to get credit/borrow and these places fill a needed void at a price.
Yes it is gone and Bellini the Italian Restaurant got a fantastic review in the N&O a week ago. Things are looking up around here many homes are selling and more are being started in the area. A nice place to call home for now.
I've lived in Fuquay for almost two years now and I love it! The funny things is.. people only see the first layer of a town when they first drive through... but keep looking and closely at that and you will find all the charm and great little oddities that this place has to offer!
The downtown areas are really looking great and I love all the little festivals and events we have going on here. Not only have the community events gotten better, but I have found some awesome groups of people who run classes, events and get togethers in this area.
All towns or cities have their issues, but I love Fuquay!
