As I look forward to closing on my home I realized I have tons of info re the normal national chain stores but not much about local places to get great deals on the following items.

So what, in your opinion, is the based national chain and best local retailer to get the following:

Large appliances, specifically washer/dryer, etc

Electronics - large screen tv's

Curtain, blinds and other window coverings

Living room furniture

Dining room/kitchen furniture

Rugs

Bedroom furniture - specially platform beds

The best prices are typically found on the internet, but if buying locally, I've had good luck bargaining with Best Buy and HHgregg for electronics, and Kirkland Imports and any small local furniture store on prices. Otherwise you'll be fine just buying from Ace Hardware, Lowe's, Home Depot, Roomstore, etc...

I have to consider if i'm gonna pay cash or charge so I like the stores which offer zero interest for 24 months or something similar. I have excellent credit so I need to use that to my advantage. I just bought 2 of every appliance there is for rental units being remodeled and I got a good discount and zero percent at HH Gregg. Just be aware that most ofd these folks use somebody else for delivery and we had to get them back 3 different times for safety anti tilt brackets for the stoves and to change the handles on the fridges.

I just had a good experience buying furniture at Whitley Galleries in Zebulon. Great selection.

I love Best Buy. Sometimes I go there even when I don't want to buy anything. And then I buy something anyway.

There's an awesome auction in Spring Hope. It's a great place to get dining room/kitchen furniture and accent pieces and a great experience too!
