We moved here at the tail end of this fiasco. I had to shake my head in shame just thinking about all the damage this young woman caused . . . and continues to cause...
I remember how insane that trial and everything was. Started out as a witch-hunt for upper-class party boys (who were, by the way, out of control to begin with at that party and deserved to be penalized for that at least) and ended as a witch hunt for false rape-accusers. Very very bad publicity for Duke and Durham (at least they got rid of Mike Nifong)
She is her own worst enemy, she needs mental health help! God bless her kids, what chance of a good life do they have with her?
I totally agree. The article said that three children were in the home at the time. Sad. What kind of a future do they have with a childhood like this. Maybe they'll put HER away this time and her children can go to a good loving home with respectable people.
I wonder what Nifong's thinking while reading this.

And I agree with the comment.
Do people really think the corruption in Durham was all Nifong? He deserved everything he got but there were many other public officials in Durham that deserved as much. Crystal was nothing more then a pawn, what she did was disgusting however, how it was handled by Durham's city officials was abominable.
I'm surprised it took so long. They're going to try and make her pay for their mistakes as well as her own.
