No offense some people have jobs that they must get to. Believe it or not a lot of places don't shut down, including the airport (save for 15-30 mins while the runway is being plowed).

RDU is already cancelling flights.

If we get 7 inches of snow on the ground, how many companies will expect their employees to get to work? How many people will risk their lives to get to work?

When hubby worked at Wake Med., they had 4 wheelers that came to pick up the employees that had to be at work. Of course, you'd expect a hospital to remain open!

Last year when we got that 5 incher (Jan 19/20ish 2009) I was at work as was everyone else no flights canceled that I can remember.

No 4-wheeler for me, just a FWD Volvo wagon. 5, 6, 7 inches over a 30 hour period really is nothing. In fact we're driving into Cary on Saturday to re-arrange my wife's new office.

Personally I hope I eat it (what I wrote) because if my flight is canceled I can sleep in longer. Works for me!!! Here's hoping you're right!!

Man just looking at that plane makes me shake,I had to be medicated the last time I flew, and the weather was crystal clear.Flying in snow, would require to much valium.

Thanks. So tired of going from place and them telling me they sold out two days or more ago.

Saw snow shovels at Bed, Bath & Beyond today around 2PM.

Yes, people were buying them! They had gloves too!

They still had snow shovels left at Cary ACE this morning, though the inventory was low.
