I am looking to move to the Durham area next year. I have been searching for Occupational Therapy jobs and mostly see SNF and Home Health hiring. Does anyone work for Home Health and what are some opinions about the different agencies?
You're right. My wife did not do her homework and was very surprised to find that the majority of openings in the OT field in NC are in SNF and Home Health. There are also lots of OT positions in hospitals, but they seem to come open less often and are harder to find. My wife did SNF for 3 months before she had to get out. Couldn't stand it. She now works at a private company that does pre-employment evaluations. Making sure that potential employees are physically capable of doing a certain job before they are hired, and making sure that injured employees are capable of returning to work.
Thanks for your reply, does your wife work in Durham? I'm looking forward to finding out what people are saying about Durham and surrounding area in regards to Home Health jobs.

Nope. North Raleigh. The SNF that she worked at was in Cary though.
I am a PT and I enjoy home health, mainly for its flexibility and not being stuck in one place for 8 hr. I work for Duke and love it. Everything has its pros and cons but so far its been a great experience.
