Hi everyone

am relatively familiar with the boards here - am not sure if I should be asking this in public or not - apologies in advance if I'm breaking any rules!

Have been living here for a little over 2 years now (originally from the UK) - we are in the Brier Creek area (or the "bubble" as we call it!) - and we like it!!

Am looking into moving from an apartment into a house - small house, or condo, or townhome or whatever you call it! (us Brits just call them "small" houses or "terraced", or "semi-detached")

Anyway - looking around online, all the searching comes up with apartments everywhere, and the searches on google are so saturated that I cannot really find anything else. Does anyone know where I could look to find some houses that are available to rent either in the Brier Creek or Long Lake developments?

Hope I'm not soliciting or anything else so salacious

Cheers

P.S. if the done thing is to PM me, then please feel free

I've been searching and looking on realtor.com. I think it checks MLS listings. You can look for buying or renting. Hotpads was another site that I looked at and it has a map so you can see exactly where the places are.

I'll DM you some info. Reminder -
Flat = apartment and condo
Detached = single family home
Semi-det = townhouse - sometimes, rarely, a condo

Yes, it seems to be a recent thing. I wonder if it's a marketing technique(?).
When I first moved here from the UK there was barely any US influence there, so i had NO frame of reference for American words, phrases, etc.. I was a total ignoramous; but people here were SO nice to me, incredibly kind and helpful. They are a very generous and welcoming people, many are the salt of the earth. I hope you experience the same

A townhome is a physical type of construction. A Condominium is a type of ownership, an association, that owns parts of the property.

I just went to craigslist and typed in Brier Creek under apartments and a bunch of townhomes came up. Looks like some are privately owned and are being rented. Here's one I found, just for an idea. I think it says Durham, though, on TW Alexander. There are many listed there.
1725 TW Alexander #1401 - 3 Bedroom, 2.5 Bath (http://raleigh.craigslist.org/apa/1624612299.html - broken link)
best,
toodie

You need hotpads.com - they are hands-down the best SFH/townhouse/condo rental site in the US.

well I suppose you Brits are more used to living in Palaces - and I would love to hear the Queen say 'confused the buggery out of me' whatever that means
