Better Cell Phone Coverage, Sprint Or Verizon In Cary/raleigh Area?
Can Anyone Tell Me How The Reception Is For Your Cell Phone Carriers And Who You Recommend? I Am Trying To Decide With Sprint Or Verizon, But Do Not Live Down There Yet So I Don't Know Coverage? Any Advice?

I have better coverage with Sprint (I did have verizon when we moved here). It all depends on where you are. No cellphone company has perfect coverage everywhere. There was a thread on this last week sometime.

I'm very happy with verizon. I've had it since I moved here in 2001

My Verizon reception is godawful, but I live in Durham. I had to get a landline. Not happy at all about that!

We had been Sprint users for several years (7+) and had to switch to Verizon upon moving here. Sprint kept repeatedly dropping calls on us on any heavy tree lined roads we drove on. Also had no reception with it inside our home and inside hubby's office.

I love my Sprint service....never a problem from RTP, to Butner, to Downtown Raleigh or even downtown Durham.
We are a strictly cell phone family as well.....gave up the landline two years ago.

I have SunCom wireless and there isn't a place I have gone where I have been out of range, even deep within my office building I still get voice and data reception.

I use Cingular and love it. Especially the roll-over minutes.

Depends on where you live as with everywhere else in the country.....also what your house is made of can effect your signal as well as your phone and what surrounds your house. I have Verizon and it works great everywhere but in my neighborhood (nothing works there so it does not matter). In Clayton Alltel is probably the best even though there is supposedly a Sprint tower. Verizon overall is usually the most reliable I have seen.

We had Cingular here when we first moved and had no problems. We switched to Sprint and now we drop calls all the time. Their customer service is also horrible. They actually wanted me to document all my dropped calls (time, location, and number I was contacting) for a period of a month! Once my contract is up I will be SPRINTing back to Cingular or trying Verizon or someone else.
