Have you been downtown at all?

I visited there about 5 years ago on vacation and didn't find anything like this. Maybe it's changed. Do you have any suggestions? That would be great. We'll be moving to NC in the future.

It's definitely improved significantly over the 5 years since you've been here. There are lots of bars, restaurants, clubs, coffee shops etc. They still have a LONG way to go and it's still somewhat lacking in the "character" department, but it's definitley more active than it used to be.

If you are living in Raleigh and looking for fun things to do downtown the Glenwood South region is by far the hottest spot. Alot of nightlife and restaurants are in this area. Some of my favorites are 42nd street oyster bar and sushi blues. The 42nd street oyster bar can be kind of pricey but the food and atmosphere is nice. Akso sushi blues has half price sushi on tues / thurs nights (but it gets really crowded and there is alot of younger college age people such as myself).

The Raleigh of five years ago is not the Raleigh of today. Not even by a long shot...heck, in the almost four years we've been here I've seen many changes.

What are some good nightclubs with a good DJ? I like dance, hip-hop, 80's, old school.
