Are you looking for tahini paste or tahini sauce? I didn't know there was a difference and this is what a site says:
Tahini, also called tahina in some countries, is a paste made from ground sesame seeds. It is found in recipes such as hummus.
Tahini sauce is a sauce made with tahini. A good example of a tahini sauce would be the tahini sauce used for falafel pitas.
You can tell the difference between tahini and tahini sauce by the thickness. Tahini is usually quite thick, while tahini sauce is thin and can easily be "squirted" onto sandwiches and other foods.
As another poster has stated, tahini is available at HT. It's stocked with the peanut butter. It's also available at WF's, Earth Fare, and Weaver Street. Some Kroger's may stock it.
I've never found it at either the Raleigh or Cary Trader Joe's or Costco.
If you do need the sauce (versus the paste), buy the paste in the jar and thin it with water and lemon juice.
i get mine @ trader joes. And whole foods does have it. Harris teeter even has it, I think by the peanut butter!
