Any good places to take a girl for drinks? Things I'm looking for:
-noise/music levels conducive to non-shouting conversations
-ambiance, soft/dim lighting, no TVs (or at least not all over the bar)
-nearby parking not a huge pain

Whatcha got?

I love the service and food/drinks at 18 Seaboard! Front area has bar and tall bistro tables, back has booths and diningtables.

You might consider one of the speakeasy type of places that seem to be springing up downtown. =hese are Fox Liquor Bar, C Grace, and The Foundation. Check yelp for lots of reviews comparing the 3 but in general they all get good marks for drinks and cozy ambience.

Everytime I've been to the Wild Turkey Lounge at Angus Barn, it seems really popular for all types and has several different areas to gather. But, it's not dim and there are 1-2 TVs in back for sports (not obtrusive). Yummy cheese and crackers!

Also could consider Barley & Vine on Duraleigh, Jibarra's tequila lounge, or Frazier's Wine Bar.

Have fun and report back!

Mosaic Wine Lounge- plenty of couches in the side room, outdoor patio, no TV's, great ambience.

Mosaic is a great suggestion, with great ambiance both inside and out. More unique then 18 Seaboard, which I think serves your purpose well imho.

Foundation and Fox Liqour Bar both fit the 'speakeasy' type that mskb suggested. Great idea (and repped). But check these out to ensure that's the atmosphere you'd both like.

If not, 18 Seaboard is a good and safer choice. Thanks for a good thread, I'm curious to see what others add. Good luck!
